爾曹為民、無疑也、智慧將與爾偕亡、

爾豈人中之俊乎、爾曹若死、宇宙間豈無哲人哉。

爾為民中俊者、無疑也、爾以為若死、智慧遂同死、或作爾豈民中之俊乎爾曹若死智慧亦死乎

“ Doubtless you are the only people who matter, and wisdom will die with you!

“ You people think you are the only ones who matter! You are sure that wisdom will die with you!

“ No doubt you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.

“ You people really know everything, don’t you? And when you die, wisdom will die with you!

No doubt you are the people, and wisdom will die with you!

“ No doubt you are the people, And wisdom will die with you!

No doubt but ye are the people, And wisdom shall die with you.

“ Without a doubt you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.

“ No doubt, but you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.

For You have kept their hearts away from understanding; Therefore You will not exalt them.

I thought age should speak, And increased years should teach wisdom.But it is a spirit that is in mankind, And the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding.The abundant in years may not be wise, Nor may elders understand justice.So I say,‘ Listen to me, I too will tell what I think.’“ Behold, I waited for your words, I listened to your skillful speech, While you pondered what to say.I also paid close attention to you; But indeed, there was no one who refuted Job, Not one of you who answered his words.So do not say,‘ We have found wisdom: God will defeat him, not man.’

“ Teach me, and I will be silent; And show me how I have done wrong.How painful are honest words! But what does your argument prove?

I listened to the reprimand which insults me, And the spirit of my understanding makes me answer.

“ Please inquire of past generations, And consider the things searched out by their fathers.For we are only of yesterday and know nothing, Because our days on earth are as a shadow.Will they not teach you and tell you, And bring forth words from their minds?

But come again all of you now, For I do not find a wise man among you.

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight!

I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not among you anyone wise who will be able to decide between his brothers and sisters,

And show you the secrets of wisdom! For sound wisdom has two sides. Know then that God forgets part of your guilt.

“ Should a wise man answer with windy knowledge, And fill himself with the east wind?

We are fools on account of Christ, but you are prudent in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are without honor!

The rich person is wise in his own eyes, But the poor who has understanding sees through him.

“ Shall a multitude of words go unanswered, And a talkative man be acquitted?

An idiot will become intelligent When a wild donkey is born a human.
