那時，耶和華從旋風中回答約伯說：「是誰用無知的話蒙蔽我的旨意？

耶和華對約伯說完這些話後，就對提幔人以利法說：「你和你的兩個朋友令我憤怒，因為你們對我的議論不如我僕人約伯說的有理。

耶和華又對約伯說：「強辯者豈可與全能者爭論？與上帝辯駁的人請作出答覆。」約伯回答耶和華說：「我這樣卑微，怎能答覆你？我只有用手掩口。我說了一次，不能答覆；說了兩次，不敢再說。」

「但願有人聽我申訴！看啊，我在這裡畫押，願全能者回答我！願我的控訴者寫好狀詞！

在上帝面前，我與你無異，也是泥土造的。所以你不用懼怕我，我不會對你施加壓力。「你的話已進到我耳中，我聽見你說，『我純全無過，我清白無罪，上帝卻挑我的錯，與我為敵；祂給我戴上腳鐐，鑒察我的一舉一動。』「我來答覆你，你的話沒有道理，因為上帝比世人大。你為何向祂抱怨，說祂不理會世人的話？上帝一再用各種方式說話，然而世人卻不明白。人躺在床上沉睡時，在夢境和夜間的異象中，上帝開啟他們的耳朵，用警告驚嚇他們，使他們離開罪惡，不再驕傲，以免他們的靈魂墜入深坑，他們的性命被刀劍奪去。

但願我知道何處能尋見上帝，知道怎樣去祂的居所。我好在祂面前陳明案情，滔滔不絕地為自己申辯；我好知道祂的答覆，看看祂對我說什麼。祂會用大能與我爭辯嗎？不會的，祂會垂聽我的申訴，允許正直的人與祂理論，審判者會讓我永遠脫罪。

你要推翻我的公義，歸罪於我而自以為義嗎？
