But the eyes of the wicked will fail, and escape will elude them; their hope will become a dying gasp.”

But sinful people won’t find what they are looking for. They won’t be able to escape. All they can hope for is to die.”

你们在万邦中将不得安宁，没有落脚之地，耶和华必使你们胆战心惊、目光呆滞、精神颓废。

人为了分产业而控告朋友，其子孙的眼睛要失明。

我何曾拒绝穷人的请求，或使寡妇眼露失望之情，

咒骂父母的人，他的生命必消逝在黑暗中。

忘记上帝的人，结局也是如此；不信上帝的人，盼望终必破灭。他所仰仗的虚若游丝，他所倚靠的诚如蛛网。

你们的光景将好像人逃避狮子，却遇上了熊，逃回家里，手扶墙壁，又被蛇咬。耶和华的日子将充满黑暗，毫无光明，一片漆黑，毫无亮光。

我们望眼欲穿，盼望援军的到来，盼来的国家却无力拯救我们。

狂风毫不留情地击打他，他拼命地逃离风的威力。

我们若忽略了这么大的救恩，怎能逃避惩罚呢？这救恩首先由主亲口宣讲出来，后来由听见的人向我们证实了。

他在阴间受折磨，抬头远远地看见亚伯拉罕和他身边的拉撒路，就喊着说，‘我的先祖亚伯拉罕啊！求你可怜我，派拉撒路用指尖蘸点水来润润我的舌头吧！我在这火中实在痛苦不堪。’“亚伯拉罕说，‘孩子啊！你要想想，你生前享福，而拉撒路受苦；如今他在这里得到安慰，而你受折磨。况且，在你我中间隔着一道深渊，这边的人不能到你那边去，你那边的人也不能到这里来。’

因为不敬虔的人将被铲除，上帝将夺去他的性命。那时，他还有何指望？

快捷的无法逃遁，强壮的无力可施，勇猛的救不了自己，

我看见主站在祭坛旁，祂说：“要击打柱顶，使殿的根基震动；要打碎柱顶，使殿宇坍塌压死众人。侥幸生还的，我要用刀剑杀掉，没有一个能逃脱，没有一个能幸免。即使他们挖洞钻进阴间，我也要把他们揪出来；即使他们爬上高天，我也要把他们拉下来；即使他们藏在迦密山的峰顶，我也要去搜寻，捉住他们；即使他们潜到海底，我也要派海蛇去吞咬他们；

没有黑暗和阴影可供作恶者藏身。

恶人所怕的必临到他，义人的心愿必得实现。

我连连呼救，已声嘶力竭；我期盼上帝的帮助，望眼欲穿。

我要惩罚你们，使你们陷入恐慌、患痨病和热症，使你们眼睛昏花、心力衰竭。你们撒种却一无所获，因为敌人要吃尽你们所种的。

他被拖出安稳的帐篷，被押到冥王那里。
