An empty headed person won’t become wise any more than a wild donkey can bear a human child.

空虚的人却毫无知识；人生在世好像野驴的驹子。

空虚的人若获得知识，野驴生下的驹子也成了人。

空虚的人若获得知识，野驴生下的驹子也成了人。

愚蠢人若能变得聪明，野驴驹也可生成人样。

虚妄的人悟出慧心，就像野驴生子为人。

But the witless can no more become wise than a wild donkey’s colt can be born human.

A wild donkey’s colt can’t be born a human being. And it’s just as impossible that a person without sense can become wise.

But a stupid man will get understanding when a wild donkey’s colt is born a man!

But a stupid person will gain understanding as soon as a wild donkey is born a human!

An idiot will become intelligent When a wild donkey is born a human.

For an empty-headed man will be wise, When a wild donkey’s colt is born a man.

But vain man is void of understanding, Yea, man is born as a wild ass’s colt.

But a stupid man will gain understanding as soon as a wild donkey is born a man!

For vain man would be wise, though man be born[ like] a wild ass’s colt.

But an empty man will become wise, when a wild donkey’s colt is born a human being.

An empty- headed man becomes wise when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.

“ Who gives the wild donkey its freedom? Who untied its ropes?I have placed it in the wilderness; its home is the wasteland.It hates the noise of the city and has no driver to shout at it.The mountains are its pastureland, where it searches for every blade of grass.

I was so foolish and ignorant— I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you.

How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?

I also thought about the human condition— how God proves to people that they are like animals.

If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying.For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.

And this is what he says to all humanity:‘ The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’”

Only a simpleton would not know, and only a fool would not understand this:

For I was born a sinner— yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.

He traps the wise in their own cleverness so their cunning schemes are thwarted.

“ You people really know everything, don’t you? And when you die, wisdom will die with you!Well, I know a few things myself— and you’re no better than I am. Who doesn’t know these things you’ve been saying?

I am too stupid to be human, and I lack common sense.I have not mastered human wisdom, nor do I know the Holy One.Who but God goes up to heaven and comes back down? Who holds the wind in his fists? Who wraps up the oceans in his cloak? Who has created the whole wide world? What is his name— and his son’s name? Tell me if you know!

Common people are as worthless as a puff of wind, and the powerful are not what they appear to be. If you weigh them on the scales, together they are lighter than a breath of air.Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life.

You are like a wild donkey, sniffing the wind at mating time. Who can restrain her lust? Those who desire her don’t need to search, for she goes running to them!

Can any mortal be pure? Can anyone born of a woman be just?

Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.

Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise.For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say,“ He traps the wise in the snare of their own cleverness.”And again,“ The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise; he knows they are worthless.”

All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.

Don’t I have a right to complain? Don’t wild donkeys bray when they find no grass, and oxen bellow when they have no food?

Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!
