When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking,“ Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom.

The time for enjoying good food would end. Then Job would make plans for his children to be made pure and“ clean.” He would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them. He would do it early in the morning. He would think,“ Perhaps my children have sinned. Maybe they have spoken evil things against God in their hearts.” That’s what Job always did for his children when he felt they had sinned.

And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said,“ It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.

When these celebrations ended— sometimes after several days— Job would purify his children. He would get up early in the morning and offer a burnt offering for each of them. For Job said to himself,“ Perhaps my children have sinned and have cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular practice.

Whenever a round of banqueting was over, Job would send for his children and purify them, rising early in the morning to offer burnt offerings for all of them. For Job thought,“ Perhaps my children have sinned, having cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular practice.

For Job said,“ It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly.

And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt- offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and renounced God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

現在你們要取七隻公牛，七隻公羊，到我僕人約伯那裏去，為自己獻上燔祭，我的僕人約伯就為你們祈禱。我因悅納他，就不按你們的愚妄辦你們。你們議論我，不如我的僕人約伯說的是。」

他說：「為平安來的，我是給耶和華獻祭。你們當自潔，來與我同吃祭肉。」撒母耳就使耶西和他眾子自潔，請他們來吃祭肉。

有兩個匪徒來，坐在拿伯的對面，當着眾民作見證告他說：「拿伯謗瀆神和王了！」眾人就把他拉到城外，用石頭打死。

雅各就對他家中的人並一切與他同在的人說：「你們要除掉你們中間的外邦神，也要自潔，更換衣裳。我們要起來，上伯特利去，在那裏我要築一座壇給神，就是在我遭難的日子應允我的禱告、在我行的路上保佑我的那位。」

又叫兩個匪徒坐在拿伯對面，作見證告他說：『你謗瀆神和王了』；隨後就把他拉出去用石頭打死。」

亞伯拉罕清早起來，備上驢，帶着兩個僕人和他兒子以撒，也劈好了燔祭的柴，就起身往神所指示他的地方去了。

所以，時候未到，甚麼都不要論斷，只等主來，他要照出暗中的隱情，顯明人心的意念。那時，各人要從神那裏得着稱讚。

你當懊悔你這罪惡，祈求主，或者你心裏的意念可得赦免。

或者你的兒女得罪了他；他使他們受報應。

靠着聖靈，隨時多方禱告祈求；並要在此警醒不倦，為眾聖徒祈求，

凡你手所當做的事要盡力去做；因為在你所必去的陰間沒有工作，沒有謀算，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

於是保羅帶着那四個人，第二天與他們一同行了潔淨的禮，進了殿，報明潔淨的日期滿足，只等祭司為他們各人獻祭。

猶太人的逾越節近了，有許多人從鄉下上耶路撒冷去，要在節前潔淨自己。

祭司和利未人就潔淨自己，也潔淨百姓和城門，並城牆。

就可以終身在他面前，坦然無懼地用聖潔、公義事奉他。

摩西的岳父葉忒羅把燔祭和平安祭獻給神。亞倫和以色列的眾長老都來了，與摩西的岳父在神面前吃飯。

神的選民晝夜呼籲他，他縱然為他們忍了多時，豈不終久給他們伸冤嗎？

耶和華又對摩西說：「你往百姓那裏去，叫他們今天明天自潔，又叫他們洗衣服。

他的妻子對他說：「你仍然持守你的純正嗎？你棄掉神，死了吧！」

人心比萬物都詭詐，壞到極處，誰能識透呢？我－耶和華是鑒察人心、試驗人肺腑的，要照各人所行的和他做事的結果報應他。

「他的供物若以牛為燔祭，就要在會幕門口獻一隻沒有殘疾的公牛，可以在耶和華面前蒙悅納。他要按手在燔祭牲的頭上，燔祭便蒙悅納，為他贖罪。他要在耶和華面前宰公牛；亞倫子孫作祭司的，要奉上血，把血灑在會幕門口、壇的周圍。那人要剝去燔祭牲的皮，把燔祭牲切成塊子。

又打發以色列人中的少年人去獻燔祭，又向耶和華獻牛為平安祭。

耶路撒冷啊，你當洗去心中的惡，使你可以得救。惡念存在你心裏要到幾時呢？

有一個以色列婦人的兒子，他父親是埃及人，一日閒遊在以色列人中。這以色列婦人的兒子和一個以色列人在營裏爭鬥。這以色列婦人的兒子褻瀆了聖名，並且咒詛，就有人把他送到摩西那裏。（他母親名叫示羅密，是但支派底伯利的女兒。）他們把那人收在監裏，要得耶和華所指示的話。耶和華曉諭摩西說：「把那咒詛聖名的人帶到營外。叫聽見的人都放手在他頭上；全會眾就要用石頭打死他。你要曉諭以色列人說：凡咒詛神的，必擔當他的罪。那褻瀆耶和華名的，必被治死；全會眾總要用石頭打死他。不管是寄居的是本地人，他褻瀆耶和華名的時候，必被治死。

耶和華啊，早晨你必聽我的聲音；早晨我必向你陳明我的心意，並要警醒！

牠一起來，勇士都驚恐，心裏慌亂，便都昏迷。

耶和華見人在地上罪惡很大，終日所思想的盡都是惡，

你且伸手毀他一切所有的；他必當面棄掉你。」

他豈以全能者為樂，隨時求告神呢？

因為從裏面，就是從人心裏，發出惡念、苟合、偷盜、凶殺、姦淫、貪婪、邪惡、詭詐、淫蕩、嫉妒、謗讟、驕傲、狂妄。這一切的惡都是從裏面出來，且能污穢人。」

我為你們起的憤恨，原是神那樣的憤恨。因為我曾把你們許配一個丈夫，要把你們如同貞潔的童女，獻給基督。

以利亞照雅各子孫支派的數目，取了十二塊石頭（耶和華的話曾臨到雅各說：「你的名要叫以色列」），
