When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking,“ Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom.

The time for enjoying good food would end. Then Job would make plans for his children to be made pure and“ clean.” He would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them. He would do it early in the morning. He would think,“ Perhaps my children have sinned. Maybe they have spoken evil things against God in their hearts.” That’s what Job always did for his children when he felt they had sinned.

And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said,“ It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.

When these celebrations ended— sometimes after several days— Job would purify his children. He would get up early in the morning and offer a burnt offering for each of them. For Job said to himself,“ Perhaps my children have sinned and have cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular practice.

Whenever a round of banqueting was over, Job would send for his children and purify them, rising early in the morning to offer burnt offerings for all of them. For Job thought,“ Perhaps my children have sinned, having cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular practice.

For Job said,“ It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly.

And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt- offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and renounced God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

挪亚为耶和华筑了一座坛，拿各类洁净的牲畜、飞鸟献在坛上为燔祭。

现在你们要取七只公牛，七只公羊，到我仆人约伯那里去，为自己献上燔祭，我的仆人约伯就为你们祈祷。我因悦纳他，就不按你们的愚妄办你们。你们议论我，不如我的仆人约伯说的是。”

他说：“为平安来的，我是给耶和华献祭。你们当自洁，来与我同吃祭肉。”撒母耳就使耶西和他众子自洁，请他们来吃祭肉。

有两个匪徒来，坐在拿伯的对面，当着众民作见证告他说：“拿伯谤渎神和王了！”众人就把他拉到城外，用石头打死。

雅各就对他家中的人并一切与他同在的人说：“你们要除掉你们中间的外邦神，也要自洁，更换衣裳。我们要起来，上伯特利去，在那里我要筑一座坛给神，就是在我遭难的日子应允我的祷告、在我行的路上保佑我的那位。”

又叫两个匪徒坐在拿伯对面，作见证告他说：‘你谤渎神和王了’；随后就把他拉出去用石头打死。”

亚伯拉罕清早起来，备上驴，带着两个仆人和他儿子以撒，也劈好了燔祭的柴，就起身往神所指示他的地方去了。

所以，时候未到，什么都不要论断，只等主来，他要照出暗中的隐情，显明人心的意念。那时，各人要从神那里得着称赞。

你当懊悔你这罪恶，祈求主，或者你心里的意念可得赦免。

或者你的儿女得罪了他；他使他们受报应。

靠着圣灵，随时多方祷告祈求；并要在此警醒不倦，为众圣徒祈求，

凡你手所当做的事要尽力去做；因为在你所必去的阴间没有工作，没有谋算，没有知识，也没有智慧。

于是保罗带着那四个人，第二天与他们一同行了洁净的礼，进了殿，报明洁净的日期满足，只等祭司为他们各人献祭。

犹太人的逾越节近了，有许多人从乡下上耶路撒冷去，要在节前洁净自己。

祭司和利未人就洁净自己，也洁净百姓和城门，并城墙。

就可以终身在他面前，坦然无惧地用圣洁、公义侍奉他。

摩西的岳父叶忒罗把燔祭和平安祭献给神。亚伦和以色列的众长老都来了，与摩西的岳父在神面前吃饭。

神的选民昼夜呼吁他，他纵然为他们忍了多时，岂不终久给他们伸冤吗？

耶和华又对摩西说：“你往百姓那里去，叫他们今天明天自洁，又叫他们洗衣服。

他的妻子对他说：“你仍然持守你的纯正吗？你弃掉神，死了吧！”

人心比万物都诡诈，坏到极处，谁能识透呢？我耶和华是鉴察人心、试验人肺腑的，要照各人所行的和他作事的结果报应他。

“他的供物若以牛为燔祭，就要在会幕门口献一只没有残疾的公牛，可以在耶和华面前蒙悦纳。他要按手在燔祭牲的头上，燔祭便蒙悦纳，为他赎罪。他要在耶和华面前宰公牛；亚伦子孙作祭司的，要奉上血，把血洒在会幕门口、坛的周围。那人要剥去燔祭牲的皮，把燔祭牲切成块子。

又打发以色列人中的少年人去献燔祭，又向耶和华献牛为平安祭。

耶路撒冷啊，你当洗去心中的恶，使你可以得救。恶念存在你心里要到几时呢？

有一个以色列妇人的儿子，他父亲是埃及人，一日闲游在以色列人中。这以色列妇人的儿子和一个以色列人在营里争斗。这以色列妇人的儿子亵渎了圣名，并且咒诅，就有人把他送到摩西那里。（他母亲名叫示罗密，是但支派底伯利的女儿。）他们把那人收在监里，要得耶和华所指示的话。耶和华晓谕摩西说：“把那咒诅圣名的人带到营外。叫听见的人都放手在他头上；全会众就要用石头打死他。你要晓谕以色列人说：凡咒诅神的，必担当他的罪。那亵渎耶和华名的，必被治死；全会众总要用石头打死他。不管是寄居的是本地人，他亵渎耶和华名的时候，必被治死。

耶和华啊，早晨你必听我的声音；早晨我必向你陈明我的心意，并要警醒！

它一起来，勇士都惊恐，心里慌乱，便都昏迷。

耶和华见人在地上罪恶很大，终日所思想的尽都是恶，

你且伸手毁他一切所有的；他必当面弃掉你。”

他岂以全能者为乐，随时求告神呢？

因为从里面，就是从人心里，发出恶念、苟合、偷盗、凶杀、奸淫、贪婪、邪恶、诡诈、淫荡、嫉妒、谤讟、骄傲、狂妄。这一切的恶都是从里面出来，且能污秽人。”

我为你们起的愤恨，原是神那样的愤恨。因为我曾把你们许配一个丈夫，要把你们如同贞洁的童女，献给基督。

以利亚照雅各子孙支派的数目，取了十二块石头（耶和华的话曾临到雅各说：“你的名要叫以色列”），
