and said:“ Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”

He said,“ I was born naked. And I’ll leave here naked. The Lord has given, and the Lord has taken away. May the name of the Lord be praised.”

And he said,“ Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

He said,“ I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!”

蓋裸而出世、必裸而歸土、所勤勞而得者、毫不能攜。

萬事謝恩、乃上帝旨、因基督耶穌命爾、

恆託我主耶穌基督名、萬事謝父上帝、

我出世無所制攜來、逝世無所攜去、此理昭然、

曰、爾所言、乃頑嚚之婦也、我自上帝而獲福祉、茲之受禍、不亦宜乎。約百不以言取罪、又如此。

或禍或福、或光或暗、俱我耶和華使之然。

使人窮乏、使人富裕、使人卑微、使人高顯、此非耶和華所主乎。

善施大賚、均自上出、由昭明之父而降、彼毫釐不爽、晷刻不移、

禍福之來、俱由至上者定之兮。

必汗流浹面、庶可餬口、逮歸於所出之土而後已。汝身乃土、死則返其本焉。

以我之物、行我所欲、不亦宜乎、我為善、爾怒目何也、

人本摶土所為、死則返本、人之魂靈為上帝所賦畀、死則歸乎上帝。○

迨其臨沒、不攜一物、尊榮不隨其身兮、

我頌耶和華、揄揚不已兮。

雅各家以色列族為人攘奪、為人俘囚、誰使之然、非我耶和華乎、彼蹈罪愆、不從我道、不遵我法、

爾若擊之、喪其貨財、必立詛爾。

希西家告以賽亞曰、爾所傳耶和華之言甚善。又曰、我尚存之日、仍享綏安、豈非善乎。

上帝賜人以貲財、供其食用、既勞而得之、當逸而享之、

邑中吹角、民豈得不懼、邑中有禍、豈非我耶和華使之然乎、

撒母耳悉以告、毫無隱諱。以利曰、事由耶和華、願其任意以行。

以成爾權、爾旨預定之事、

王不順輿情、乃耶和華使之、以應所命示羅人、亞希雅告尼八子耶羅破暗之言。

庶幾耶和華眷顧我。緣其咒詛、加我以善。

雅各怒曰、使爾不育者、在上帝、豈在我乎。

勿緣此自憂自恨、蓋上帝遣我、先爾而至、以保爾命。

在彼東方、爰及西海、人揚聲謳歌以色列之上帝耶和華。

余竊自思、曰、昔爾沐以膏者、今厭棄之、加以震怒兮、昔與立約、而今廢之、所冠之冕、則污衊之兮、撤其藩籬、毀其衛所兮、行旅攘奪之、鄰里凌辱之兮、仇敵振興、寇讎悅懌、爾使然兮、爾僕持刃、其鋒頓挫、戰鬥不利兮、尊榮則廢棄兮、國位則隕越兮、其年短折、其體玷辱、咸爾所使兮。耶和華兮、爾遐棄我、震怒奮烈、伊於何底兮、人壽幾何、請爾垂念、爾造世人、同歸於盡、寧非徒勞兮、人生斯世、詎能免於死亡、誰克救其生命、不至陰府兮。維主在昔、待大闢以恩、加以盟約、必踐前言、今安在兮、維茲庶民、咸詬誶予、而玷我躬、主其憶念之兮、耶和華兮、爾曾沐我以膏、敵人謗讟予、與謗讟爾無異兮、惟予頌美耶和華、永世靡暨、心所願兮。
