Just as he came forth from his mother’s womb, naked will he return as he came, and he will take nothing in his hand that he may carry away from his toil.

in everything give thanks. For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

always giving thanks to God the Father for each other in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

For we have brought nothing into this world and so we cannot take a single thing out either.

But he replied,“ You’re talking like one of the godless women would do! Should we receive what is good from God, and not also receive what is evil?” In all this Job did not sin by what he said.

Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that everything comes– both calamity and blessing?

By the sweat of your brow you will eat food until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you will return.”

Am I not permitted to do what I want with what belongs to me? Or are you envious because I am generous?’

and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the life’s breath returns to God who gave it.

For he will take nothing with him when he dies; his wealth will not follow him down into the grave.

I will praise the LORD at all times; my mouth will continually praise him.

Who handed Jacob over to the robber? Who handed Israel over to the looters? Was it not the LORD, against whom we sinned? They refused to follow his commands; they disobeyed his law.

But extend your hand and strike everything he has, and he will no doubt curse you to your face!”

Hezekiah said to Isaiah,“ The LORD’s word which you have announced is appropriate.” Then he added,“ At least there will be peace and stability during my lifetime.”

To every man whom God has given wealth, and possessions, he has also given him the ability to eat from them, to receive his reward and to find enjoyment in his toil; these things are the gift of God.

If an alarm sounds in a city, do people not fear? If disaster overtakes a city, is the LORD not responsible?

So Samuel told him everything. He did not hold back anything from him. Eli said,“ The LORD will do what he pleases.”

Will you remain hidden forever? Will your anger continue to burn like fire?Take note of my brief lifespan! Why do you make all people so mortal?No man can live on without experiencing death, or deliver his life from the power of Sheol.( Selah)Where are your earlier faithful deeds, O Lord, the ones performed in accordance with your reliable oath to David?Take note, O Lord, of the way your servants are taunted, and of how I must bear so many insults from people!Your enemies, O LORD, hurl insults; they insult your chosen king as they dog his footsteps.The LORD deserves praise forevermore!
