While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said,“ Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house,

While he was still speaking, a fourth messenger came. He said,“ Your sons and daughters were at their oldest brother’s house. They were enjoying good food and drinking wine.

While he was yet speaking, there came another and said,“ Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,

While he was still speaking, another messenger arrived with this news:“ Your sons and daughters were feasting in their oldest brother’s home.

He was still speaking when another messenger came and reported,“ Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house.

有一天，約伯的兒女正在他們長兄的家裏吃飯喝酒，

他的兒子按着日子各在自己家裏擺設宴席，派人去請他們的三個姊妹來，與他們一同吃喝。

「我使你們在每一座城裏牙齒乾淨，使你們各處的糧食缺乏，你們仍不歸向我。」這是耶和華說的。「在收割的前三個月，我不降雨在你們那裏，我降雨在這城，不降雨在那城；這塊地有雨，那塊無雨的地就必枯乾。兩三城的人擠到一個城去找水喝，卻喝不足，你們仍不歸向我。」這是耶和華說的。「我以焚風和霉爛攻擊你們，你們許多的菜園、葡萄園、無花果樹、橄欖樹屢屢被剪蟲所吃，你們仍不歸向我。」這是耶和華說的。「我降瘟疫在你們中間，如在埃及的樣子；用刀殺戮你們的年輕人和你們遭擄掠的馬匹，營中臭氣撲鼻，你們仍不歸向我。」這是耶和華說的。「我傾覆你們，如同上帝從前傾覆所多瑪、蛾摩拉一樣；你們好像從火中搶救出來的一根柴，你們仍不歸向我。」這是耶和華說的。

押沙龍吩咐僕人說：「你們注意，暗嫩開懷暢飲的時候，我對你們說擊殺暗嫩，你們就殺他。不要懼怕，這不是我吩咐你們的嗎？你們要剛強，作勇士！」

「如今我的哀告還算為悖逆；我雖唉哼，他的手仍然重重責罰我。

義人多有苦難，但耶和華救他脫離這一切，

倘若他的兒女增多，仍被刀所殺；他的子孫必不得飽食。

每逢它揮來，必將你們擄去；每早晨它必揮過，白晝黑夜都是如此。明白這信息的都必驚恐。」

凡臨到眾人的際遇都一樣：義人和惡人，好人，潔淨的人和不潔淨的人，獻祭的和不獻祭的，都一樣。好人如何，罪人也如何；起誓的如何，怕起誓的也如何。

或者你的兒女得罪了他，他就把他們交在過犯的掌控中。

通報的彼此相遇，送信的彼此相遇，報告巴比倫王，城的四方都被攻下了，

他使我破裂，破裂又破裂，如同勇士向我直闖。

他剝去我的榮光，摘去我頭上的冠冕。他在四圍攻擊我，我就走了；他將我的指望如樹拔出。

「惟願我的煩惱被秤一秤，我一切的災害放在天平裏，現今都比海沙更重，所以我說話急躁。

所有過路的人哪，願這事不要發生在你們身上。你們要留意觀看，有像這樣臨到我的痛苦沒有？耶和華在他發烈怒的日子使我受苦。
