Jesus said,“ If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.

Jesus replied,“ If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin, but now because you claim that you can see, your guilt remains.”

禍哉斯人、視己有智慧、自以為明哲、

若言己無罪、則自欺而真理不在我衷、若認己罪、天主乃誠信公義、必赦免我罪、洗滌我一切不義、若言未嘗犯罪、則以天主之言為誑、其道不在我心、

若我未來訓之、則其人無罪、今其罪不得辭矣、惡我者亦惡我父、若我在其中、不行他人所未行之事、則其人無罪、今已見之、且惡我及我父、

我儕得識真理後、若故犯罪、則無復有可贖之祭、

我告爾、得稱義而歸者、此也、非彼也、蓋凡自高者必降為卑、自卑者將升為高、○

爾見人自視為智、試較之愚人、愚人尚可冀其明悟、

僕知主人之意、而不設備、不順其意者、見撲必多、

爾猶曰、我無罪辜、主必向我息怒、因爾自謂未嘗犯罪、我必審鞫爾、審鞫爾或作懲罰爾
