耶穌對他們說：「如果你們是瞎眼的，就沒有罪了。但如今你們說『我們能看見』，所以你們的罪仍然存在。

耶穌曰：『苟為盲者、將無罪矣！今爾自以為有見、罪在其中矣！』

Jesus said,“ If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.

“ If you were blind,” Jesus told them,“ you wouldn’t have sin. But now that you say,‘ We see,’ your sin remains.

Jesus replied,“ If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin, but now because you claim that you can see, your guilt remains.”

禍哉！那些自以為有智慧、自視為有悟性的人！

如果我們說自己沒有罪，我們就是在欺騙自己，真理就不在我們裡面了；如果我們承認自己的罪孽，神是信實的、公義的，他就會赦免我們的罪孽，潔淨我們脫離一切的不義。如果我們說自己沒有犯罪，我們就是把神當做說謊者，他的話語就不在我們裡面了。

如果我沒有來，也沒有教導他們，他們就沒有罪；但如今，他們的罪無可推諉了。恨我的，也恨我的父。如果我沒有在他們當中做別人從未做過的事，他們就沒有罪；但如今他們雖然看到了，還是恨我和我的父。

要知道，我們領受了真理的知識以後，如果還故意犯罪，就不再有贖罪的祭物被保留下來；

我告訴你們：下去回家時已經被稱為義的是這個稅吏，而不是那個法利賽人。因為每一個自我高舉的都會被降卑；而自我降卑的都會被高舉。」

你見過自以為有智慧的人嗎？愚昧人比他更有希望。

那知道主人的意思，卻沒有預備，也不照著主人的意思去做的奴僕，將會受很多鞭打；
