那些自以為聰明、睿智的人有禍了！

如果我們說自己沒有罪，便是自欺，真理就不在我們心中。如果我們承認自己的罪，上帝是信實公義的，必赦免我們的罪，洗淨我們一切的不義。我們如果說自己沒有犯過罪，就是把上帝看作說謊的，祂的道也不在我們心中。

我如果沒有來教導他們，他們就沒有罪了，但現在他們的罪無可推諉。恨我的，也恨我的父。我如果沒有在他們當中行過空前的神蹟，他們就沒有罪了。然而，他們親眼看見了，竟然還恨我和我的父。

因為我們知道了真理以後，若仍然故意犯罪，就再沒有贖罪祭了，

「我告訴你們，二人回家後，被上帝算為義的是稅吏而不是法利賽人，因為自高的人必遭貶抑，謙卑的人必得尊榮。」

自以為有智慧的人，還不如愚人有希望。

明知主人的意思卻不準備，也不遵行主人吩咐的僕人，必受更重的責打。

你們還說，『我們是無辜的，耶和華不再向我們發怒。』看啊，我必審判你們，因為你們拒不認罪。
