Jesus answered, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

“ Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus,“ but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

“ It isn’t because this man sinned,” said Jesus.“ It isn’t because his parents sinned. He was born blind so that God’s power could be shown by what’s going to happen.

Jesus answered,“ It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.

“ It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered.“ This happened so the power of God could be seen in him.

“ Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” Jesus answered.“ This came about so that God’s works might be displayed in him.

And it was so, that, after Jehovah had spoken these words unto Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

Is not thy wickedness great? Neither is there any end to thine iniquities.For thou hast taken pledges of thy brother for nought, And stripped the naked of their clothing.Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, And thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; And the honorable man, he dwelt in it.Thou hast sent widows away empty, And the arms of the fatherless have been broken.Therefore snares are round about thee, And sudden fear troubleth thee,Or darkness, so that thou canst not see, And abundance of waters cover thee.Is not God in the height of heaven? And behold the height of the stars, how high they are!And thou sayest, What doth God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness?Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he seeth not; And he walketh on the vault of heaven.Wilt thou keep the old way Which wicked men have trodden?Who were snatched away before their time, Whose foundation was poured out as a stream,Who said unto God, Depart from us; And, What can the Almighty do for us?Yet he filled their houses with good things: But the counsel of the wicked is far from me.The righteous see it, and are glad; And the innocent laugh them to scorn,Saying, Surely they that did rise up against us are cut off, And the remnant of them the fire hath consumed.Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: Thereby good shall come unto thee.Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, And lay up his words in thy heart.If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, If thou put away unrighteousness far from thy tents.And lay thou thy treasure in the dust, And the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks;And the Almighty will be thy treasure, And precious silver unto thee.For then shalt thou delight thyself in the Almighty, And shalt lift up thy face unto God.Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he will hear thee; And thou shalt pay thy vows.Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; And light shall shine upon thy ways.When they cast thee down, thou shalt say, There is lifting up; And the humble person he will save.He will deliver even him that is not innocent: Yea, he shall be delivered through the cleanness of thy hands.

And Jehovah said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job? for there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and turneth away from evil: and he still holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.And Satan answered Jehovah, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.But put forth thy hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will renounce thee to thy face.And Jehovah said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thy hand; only spare his life.

Behold, I know your thoughts, And the devices wherewith ye would wrong me.

And they, when they had further threatened them, let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people; for all men glorified God for that which was done.

the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good tidings preached to them.

And he answered and said unto them, Think ye that these Galilæans were sinners above all the Galilæans, because they have suffered these things?I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all in like manner perish.Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, think ye that they were offenders above all the men that dwell in Jerusalem?I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

And when the barbarians saw the venomous creature hanging from his hand, they said one to another, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped from the sea, yet Justice hath not suffered to live.

For all this I laid to my heart, even to explore all this: that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God; whether it be love or hatred, man knoweth it not; all is before them.All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth and to him that sacrificeth not; as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.

And Jehovah said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job? for there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and turneth away from evil.Then Satan answered Jehovah, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?Hast not thou made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath, on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.But put forth thy hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will renounce thee to thy face.And Jehovah said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thy hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of Jehovah.

Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father.And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou believedst, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
