於是若輩復召夙盲之人、而語之曰：『汝其以天主光榮為懷！吾人明知彼乃罪人。』

A second time they summoned the man who had been blind.“ Give glory to God by telling the truth,” they said.“ We know this man is a sinner.”

Again the Pharisees called the man who had been blind to come to them.“ Give glory to God by telling the truth!” they said.“ We know that the man who healed you is a sinner.”

So for the second time they called the man who had been blind and said to him,“ Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.”

Then they summoned the man who used to be blind a second time and said to him,“ Promise before God to tell the truth. We know that this man is a sinner.”

So they called the man who was blind a second time, and said to him,“ Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.”

Then Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, by telling the truth. Make your confession and tell me what you have done. Don’t hide it from me.”

Some of the Pharisees said,“ This man Jesus is not from God, for he is working on the Sabbath.” Others said,“ But how could an ordinary sinner do such miraculous signs?” So there was a deep division of opinion among them.

For you will be expelled from the synagogues, and the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God.

The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

“ We wouldn’t have handed him over to you if he weren’t a criminal!” they retorted.

so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.

I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal.For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law.For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.

Hear this message from the Lord, all you who tremble at his words:“ Your own people hate you and throw you out for being loyal to my name.‘ Let the Lord be honored!’ they scoff.‘ Be joyful in him!’ But they will be put to shame.

When they saw him, the leading priests and Temple guards began shouting,“ Crucify him! Crucify him!”“ Take him yourselves and crucify him,” Pilate said.“ I find him not guilty.”

Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High.Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”

“ No,” Jesus said,“ I have no demon in me. For I honor my Father— and you dishonor me.

“ I don’t have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches. He has no power over me,

When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself,“ If this man were a prophet, he would know what kind of woman is touching him. She’s a sinner!”

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people— even eating with them!

Two revolutionaries were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left.

Which of you can truthfully accuse me of sin? And since I am telling you the truth, why don’t you believe me?

But the people were displeased.“ He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.

Make these things to show honor to the God of Israel. Perhaps then he will stop afflicting you, your gods, and your land.Don’t be stubborn and rebellious as Pharaoh and the Egyptians were. By the time God was finished with them, they were eager to let Israel go.“ Now build a new cart, and find two cows that have just given birth to calves. Make sure the cows have never been yoked to a cart. Hitch the cows to the cart, but shut their calves away from them in a pen.Put the Ark of the Lord on the cart, and beside it place a chest containing the gold rats and gold tumors you are sending as a guilt offering. Then let the cows go wherever they want.If they cross the border of our land and go to Beth shemesh, we will know it was the Lord who brought this great disaster upon us. If they don’t, we will know it was not his hand that caused the plague. It came simply by chance.”
