They still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man’s parents.

They still did not believe that the man had been blind and now could see. So they sent for his parents.

But although He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him,that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke:“ Lord, who has believed our report? So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had married his daughters, and said,“ Get up, get out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city!” But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be joking.

His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed that He was Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue.

while it is said:“ Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses?Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey?So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Lord, when Your hand is lifted up, they will not see. But they will see and be ashamed For their envy of people; Yes, the fire of Your enemies shall devour them.

But he said to him,‘ If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’”

How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?

Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him,“ Who are you?”

Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
