They still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man’s parents.

耶穌雖然在他們面前行了這麼多神蹟，他們仍然不信他。這是為要應驗先知以賽亞所說的話：「主啊，我們所傳的，有誰相信了？主的膀臂，向誰顯示了？」他們之所以不能相信，是因為以賽亞又說過：「神使他們瞎了眼，硬了心，免得他們眼睛看見，心裡明白，回轉過來，我就使他們痊癒。」

羅得就出去，告訴將要娶他女兒的女婿們說：「起來！離開這地方，因為耶和華就要毀滅這城了！」但在他們的眼中，他像是在開玩笑。

他的父母說這些話，是因為怕那些猶太人。原來那些猶太人已經說好，如果有人承認耶穌是基督，就要把他趕出會堂。

經上說：「今天，你們如果聽見他的聲音，就不可硬著你們的心，如同在那悖逆的時候。」到底是誰聽見卻悖逆了呢？難道不是被摩西從埃及帶領出來的那一切人嗎？神又向誰發怒了四十年之久呢？難道不是那些犯了罪、屍首倒在曠野的人嗎？他又向誰起誓說，他們絕不能進入他的安息呢？難道不是向那些不肯信從的人嗎？這樣我們就看出來：他們不能進入，是因不信的緣故。

耶和華啊，你的手高舉，他們卻不看！願他們看到你對子民的熱心就蒙羞；願你為敵人所預備的烈火吞噬他們！

「可是亞伯拉罕對他說：『如果他們不聽從摩西和先知們，就算有人從死人中復活，他們也不會被說服的。』

你們彼此接受榮耀，卻不尋求從獨一的神而來的榮耀，那怎麼能信呢？

以下是約翰的見證。那時候，耶路撒冷的那些猶太人派了一些祭司和利未人到約翰那裡去問他：「你是誰？」

所以，我們要努力進入那安息，免得有人照著那同樣不信從的樣式跌落了。

我們所傳的，有誰相信了？耶和華的膀臂向誰顯現了？
