They still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man’s parents.

They still did not believe that the man had been blind and now could see. So they sent for his parents.

The Jews did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight, until they called the parents of the man who had received his sight

The Jewish leaders still refused to believe the man had been blind and could now see, so they called in his parents.

The Jews did not believe this about him— that he was blind and received sight— until they summoned the parents of the one who had received his sight.

耶穌在他們面前行了許多神蹟，但是他們仍然不信他。這是要應驗以賽亞先知所說的話：“主啊，我們所傳的，有誰信呢？主的膀臂向誰顯露呢？”他們不能相信，因為以賽亞又說：“神使他們瞎了眼，硬了心，免得他們眼睛看見，心裡明白而回轉過來；我就醫好他們。”

於是羅得出去，告訴娶了他女兒的女婿說：“你們起來離開這地方；因為耶和華就要毀滅這城。”但是他的女婿以為他在開玩笑。

他的父母這樣說，是因為怕猶太人，原來猶太人已經定好了，不論誰承認耶穌是基督，就要把那人趕出會堂。

經上說：“如果你們今天聽從他的聲音，就不要硬著心，像惹他發怒的時候一樣。”那時，聽了他的話而惹他發怒的是誰呢？不就是摩西從埃及領出來的那些人嗎？四十年之久，神向誰發怒呢？不就是向那些犯了罪陳屍曠野的人嗎？他又向誰起誓說，他們絕對不可以進入他的安息呢？不就是向那些不順從的人嗎？這樣看來，他們不能進入安息，是因為不信的緣故。

耶和華啊！你的手高舉，他們還是看不見。願他們因看見你對子民的熱心而慚愧；願那為你的敵人預備的火吞滅他們。

亞伯拉罕說：‘如果他們不聽從摩西和先知，就算有一個從死人中復活的人，他們也不會接受勸告。’”

你們彼此接受稱讚，卻不尋求從獨一的神而來的稱讚，怎麼能信呢？

以下是約翰的見證：猶太人從耶路撒冷派祭司和利未人到約翰那裡，問他：“你是誰？”

所以，我們要竭力進入那安息，免得有人隨著那不順從的樣子就跌倒了。

誰會相信我們所傳的？耶和華的膀臂向誰顯露呢？
