They still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man’s parents.

耶穌雖然在他們面前行了許多神蹟，他們還是不信祂。這是要應驗以賽亞先知的話：「主啊，誰相信我們所傳的呢？主的能力向誰顯現呢？」接著，以賽亞又說出他們不能信的緣故：「主使他們眼瞎、心硬，免得他們眼睛看見，心裡明白，回心轉意，就得到我的醫治。」

羅得聽了就去通知他女兒的未婚夫說：「快走吧！耶和華要毀滅這城了！」可是他們卻以為他是在開玩笑。

他父母因為害怕那些猶太人，所以才這樣說，因為那些猶太人早就商量好了，誰承認耶穌是基督，就把他趕出會堂。

聖經上說：「你們今日若聽見祂的聲音，不可像從前那樣硬著心悖逆祂。」聽見祂的聲音卻又悖逆祂的是誰呢？不就是摩西從埃及領出來的那些人嗎？四十年之久惹上帝發怒的是誰呢？不就是那些犯罪作惡並倒斃在曠野的人嗎？上帝起誓不准誰進入祂的安息呢？不就是那些不肯信從的人嗎？可見，他們不能進入上帝的安息是因為不信的緣故。

你懲罰的手高高舉起，他們卻看不見。願他們因看見你向你子民所發的熱心而感到羞愧。願你為敵人預備的火燒滅他們。

「亞伯拉罕說，『如果他們不聽從摩西和眾先知的話，即使一個人從死裡復活，他們也不會信服。』」

你們喜歡互相恭維，卻不追求從獨一上帝來的榮耀，怎能信我呢？

以下是約翰的見證。猶太人從耶路撒冷派祭司和利未人來找約翰，查問他是誰。

因此，我們要竭力進入那安息，免得重蹈他們的覆轍，因不順服而倒斃。

誰相信我們所傳的呢？耶和華的大能向誰彰顯過呢？
