They still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man’s parents.

耶稣虽然在他们面前行了许多神迹，他们还是不信祂。这是要应验以赛亚先知的话：“主啊，谁相信我们所传的呢？主的能力向谁显现呢？”接着，以赛亚又说出他们不能信的缘故：“主使他们眼瞎、心硬，免得他们眼睛看见，心里明白，回心转意，就得到我的医治。”

罗得听了就去通知他女儿的未婚夫说：“快走吧！耶和华要毁灭这城了！”可是他们却以为他是在开玩笑。

他父母因为害怕那些犹太人，所以才这样说，因为那些犹太人早就商量好了，谁承认耶稣是基督，就把他赶出会堂。

圣经上说：“你们今日若听见祂的声音，不可像从前那样硬着心悖逆祂。”听见祂的声音却又悖逆祂的是谁呢？不就是摩西从埃及领出来的那些人吗？四十年之久惹上帝发怒的是谁呢？不就是那些犯罪作恶并倒毙在旷野的人吗？上帝起誓不准谁进入祂的安息呢？不就是那些不肯信从的人吗？可见，他们不能进入上帝的安息是因为不信的缘故。

你惩罚的手高高举起，他们却看不见。愿他们因看见你向你子民所发的热心而感到羞愧。愿你为敌人预备的火烧灭他们。

“亚伯拉罕说，‘如果他们不听从摩西和众先知的话，即使一个人从死里复活，他们也不会信服。’”

你们喜欢互相恭维，却不追求从独一上帝来的荣耀，怎能信我呢？

以下是约翰的见证。犹太人从耶路撒冷派祭司和利未人来找约翰，查问他是谁。

因此，我们要竭力进入那安息，免得重蹈他们的覆辙，因不顺服而倒毙。

谁相信我们所传的呢？耶和华的大能向谁彰显过呢？
