你告诉他人不可通奸，自己却通奸吗？你憎恶偶像，自己却去偷庙里的东西吗？

愿谋取我性命的人蒙羞受辱！愿喜欢我被害的人狼狈逃窜！

反对祂的人听了这番话后，都非常羞愧，众人却为耶稣的奇妙作为高兴欢喜。

恶人得势不会长久，不信上帝者的快乐转瞬即逝？

祂挫败狡猾人的阴谋，使他们无法得逞。祂使智者中了自己的诡计，使奸徒的计谋迅速落空。

愿我的仇敌在羞辱中灭亡，愿那些害我的人抱愧蒙羞。

这时，成千上万的人聚集在一起，甚至互相践踏。耶稣先对门徒说：“你们要提防法利赛人的酵，就是他们的伪善。掩盖的事终会暴露出来，隐藏的秘密终会被人知道。你们在暗处说的，将在明处被人听见；你们在密室里的私语，将在屋顶上被人宣扬。

我对你的所作所为默然不语，你就以为我与你是同道。现在我要责备你，当面指出你的罪状。

妇人对以利亚说：“上帝的仆人啊，我跟你有什么关系？你到我这里来是要让上帝想起我的罪，取我儿子的性命吗？”

耶稣直起腰来，说：“妇人，他们到哪里去了？没有人定你的罪吗？”

天要揭露他的罪恶，地要站出来指控他。

王又说：“你以前如何恶待我父大卫，你自己心里明白，现在耶和华要追究你的罪行了。

耶稣又对众人说：“我是世界的光，凡跟从我的，必不会走在黑暗里，必要得到生命的光。”

耶稣声名远播，希律王也听说了祂的事。有人说：“施洗者约翰从死里复活了，所以能够行这些神迹。”也有人说：“祂是先知以利亚。”还有人说：“祂是个先知，跟古代的一位先知相似。”希律听到这些议论，就说：“祂一定是被我斩了头的约翰从死里复活了。”

第二天清晨，祂又回到圣殿。百姓聚集在祂那里，祂就坐下来教导他们。
