When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them,“ Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

They kept asking him questions. So he stood up and said to them,“ Has any one of you not sinned? Then you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them,“ Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said,“ All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”

When they persisted in questioning him, he stood up and said to them,“ The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her.”

When they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up and said to them,“ He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them,“ He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”

But when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

When they persisted in questioning Him, He stood up and said to them,“ The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her.”

But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them,“ He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.”

若作和羹、爾為鹽梅；庶知如何因人而施教也。

慎毋責人、庶免受責。蓋爾所責於人者、必有援以責爾者；爾所用以繩人者、必有執以繩爾者。何察察於兄弟目中之纖芥、而不見自己目中之巨木乎？己目既有巨木、則又烏得告爾兄弟曰：「容我去爾目中之纖芥」耶？嗟爾虛偽之徒、盍先去爾目中之巨木以求明見然後再思去爾兄弟目中之纖芥乎？

然則爾欲正人、盍先正己！禁人為盜者、豈可自身為盜？禁人奸淫者、豈可自犯奸淫？厭惡偶像者、豈可褻瀆聖殿？而以法為誇者、豈可明知故犯、以辱天主乎？蓋正如經之所言：『因爾之故、天主之名、為世詬病。』爾苟能遵法而行、割禮固屬有益；如仍犯法、則雖受割、亦猶未割。

嗟爾蒼生、爾如責人、將無以免責；蓋爾之所責於人者、率皆躬自蹈之；是爾之責人、適足自納於罪耳。夫吾人既明知此等行為、依理應受天主之譴責；嗟爾蒼生、爾自犯責人之過、猶希倖免天主之譴責乎？

哀哉爾經生與法利塞人、虛偽之徒也！蓋爾第潔杯盤之表、而內充貪污邪欲。矇哉法利塞人！爾其先潔杯盤之內、則其外自潔矣。哀哉爾經生與法利塞人、虛偽之徒也！蓋爾猶粉堊之塋、外形雖美、內充屍骸諸穢。爾曹飾義以欺人、而內則虛偽邪惡、無所不有也。

尚其悔改、否則吾不久必來爾處、以吾口中之劍、痛擊之。

蓋天主之道、活潑靈通、利於雙刃之劍、刺透魂魄、徹入骨髓、且能燭幽洞微、即心中一念之萌、一意之起、靡有不察、凡屬受造之物、莫不在天主明鑒之下、腑肺盡露；吾人皆向渠負責、固無所逃於天地間也。

主語作惡者。何事研玉律。口頭誦盟約。心中存乖逆。吾言如充耳。不復懷大法。盜賊為同黨。奸非是所狎。出口惟莠言。行詐憑長舌。骨肉反不親。中傷盍有極。

右手執七星、口吐雙鋒利劍、其容如中天之日。

彼口吐利刃、以擊萬邦；手執鐵杖、以牧元元；足踐酒醡、以洩全能天主之義憤；

奉派者曰：『人之論道、未有如斯人之所言者也！』

若同人共作預言、即來一不信或無術之人、亦將為爾眾所感化為爾眾所詰究、自覺心中隱念、昭然若揭、則必俯伏而頂禮天主、且自承天主之實與爾偕矣。
