When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them,“ Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

They kept asking him questions. So he stood up and said to them,“ Has any one of you not sinned? Then you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them,“ Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said,“ All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”

When they persisted in questioning him, he stood up and said to them,“ The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her.”

When they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up and said to them,“ He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them,“ He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”

But when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

When they persisted in questioning Him, He stood up and said to them,“ The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her.”

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

When they persisted in asking him, he stood up straight and replied,“ Whoever among you is guiltless may be the first to throw a stone at her.”

But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them,“ He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.”

爾言恆當婉喻、如以鹽調和、則知所以對答各人、○

勿議人、則不見議、爾議人如何、則見議亦若是、爾以何量量諸人、人亦以何量量諸爾、爾兄弟目中有草芥、爾見之、而己目中有梁木不自覺、何歟、爾目中有梁木、何以語爾兄弟曰、容我去爾目中之草芥乎、偽善者乎、先去己目中之梁木、然後可見以去爾兄弟目中之草芥、

然則爾訓他人、而不訓己乎、爾言勿竊、而自竊乎、爾言勿姦、而自姦乎、爾惡偶像、而竊廟中物乎、爾以律法為誇、而自犯律法辱天主乎、天主名緣爾曹受謗讟於異邦人中、如經所載矣、○爾若遵行律法、割禮有益、若犯律法、雖受割禮、亦若未受、

是以凡爾議人者、無可推諉、蓋爾何以議人、適以罪己、因爾所議者、己亦行之、凡行此者、我儕知天主必循真理審判之、爾議彼行如此之事者、而爾亦行之、爾以為能逃天主之審判乎、

當殺之人、必憑二三人為證殺之、不可憑一人為證殺之、殺之之時、證人先擊之、眾民後擊之、如是、除惡於爾中、○

禍哉爾偽善之經士與法利賽人、因爾潔杯盤之外、內則充滿劫奪及非義、瞽者法利賽人乎、先潔杯盤之內、則其外亦潔矣、○禍哉爾偽善之經士與法利賽人、因爾似粉飾之墓、外見為美、內則充滿屍骸、及諸污穢、爾曹亦若是、外見於人為義、而內則充滿偽善及非法、○

爾當悔改、不然、我必速臨爾、以我口之劍擊之、

蓋天主之言、活潑有力、較兩刃之劍尤利、神氣與骨髓、無不剖入、心之意念、無不鑒察、且無一物得隱於鞫我之天主前、皆於其目前皎然顯露、○

天主向惡人曰、爾為何傳述我之律法、口講我之盟約、其實爾厭惡我之訓誨、將我之言語、棄置於後、見盜賊即與之同群、又與姦淫之人結交、肆口出惡言、以舌編造詭語、坐而讒譭爾之親兄、誣謗爾之胞弟、

愚人言癡、爾勿應之、恐爾亦癡、與彼無異、愚人言癡、亦有時當應之、恐彼自視為智、

右手執七星、口出兩刃利劍、容如正午之烈日、

有利劍自其口出、以之擊諸異邦、且以鐵杖轄轄原文作牧之、踐全能天主忿怒之酒醡、

吏役答曰、從未有人言若此人言者、

主曰、我之言若火、若鎚碎磐、

有出言如以刃刺人者、惟智人之言如良藥、

若皆為先知講道、有不信者、或無識者入、則覺為眾所責、為眾所議、如是、其心之隱微顯露、即俯伏拜天主云、天主誠在爾中、
