有些法利賽人前來試探耶穌，說：「無論出於什麼緣故，人是否可以休妻呢？」

撕裂有時，縫合有時；靜默有時，說話有時；

耶穌看出他們的惡意，就說：「你們這些偽善的人！為什麼試探我呢？

我們也不可試探基督，像他們中的有些人試探了，結果就被蛇所滅。

耶穌一句話也不回應，他的門徒們上前來求他，說：「這婦人一直跟在我們後面喊叫，請讓她走吧。」

耶穌從那裡出來，法利賽人和經文士們就開始激烈地敵視他，還盤問他許多問題，暗中等機會，要從他的口中抓住把柄。

猶大是只小獅子；我兒啊，你獵食而歸，屈身蹲伏，躺如公獅，臥如母獅，誰敢驚動你？

於是，他們密切注意，派了一些奸細裝做好人，要抓耶穌的話柄，好把他交在總督的管理和權柄之下。那些奸細問耶穌，說：「老師，我們知道你所說所教導的都是對的，你也不顧人的情面，而是按真理教導神的道。請問：我們向凱撒納稅，可以不可以呢？」耶穌看出他們的詭詐，就對他們說：

「看哪，我差派你們出去，就像把羊送進狼群中，所以你們要像蛇那樣聰明，像鴿子那樣純潔。

那些尋索我命的設下圈套，那些尋機加害我的口吐威嚇，他們終日思想詭計。至於我，我就像耳聾的不能聽見，像啞巴不能開口。我就像是一個不能聽見、口中也無法辯論的人。

有些法利賽人前來試探耶穌，問他：「人是否可以休妻呢？」

有些法利賽人出來，開始和耶穌辯論。他們試探耶穌，向他要求一個從天上來的神蹟。

他們當中有一個是律法師，來試探耶穌，問他：

過路人捲入與自己無關的爭辯，就如人去揪住狗的耳朵。

有些法利賽人和撒都該人前來試探耶穌，要求他把一個從天上來的神蹟顯給他們看。

耶穌卻沉默不語。大祭司又對他說：「我命令你指著永生的神起誓，告訴我們你是不是基督——神的兒子？」

那時，忽然有人的手指頭出現，在燈臺對面王宮的粉牆上寫字。王看到那正在寫字的手，

清晨，耶穌又來到聖殿，全體民眾到他那裡，他就坐下，開始教導他們。

我說：「我要謹守我的道路，免得犯口舌之罪。惡人還在我面前的時候，我要用籠套約束我的口。」

另有些人試探耶穌，向他要求一個從天上來的神蹟。

耶穌看出他們的假意，就對他們說：「你們為什麼試探我呢？拿一個銀幣來給我看。」
