耶稣看出他们的恶意，就说：“虚伪的人，为什么试探我呢？

我们也不可试探主，像他们有些人那样，结果就被蛇咬死了。

耶稣一句话也不回答她。门徒上前求他说：“请叫她走吧，她一直跟在我们后面喊叫。”

他们讨厌那在城门口主持公道的人，恨恶说正直话的。

耶稣从那里出来，经学家和法利赛人非常敌视他，质问他很多问题，等机会从他的口中找把柄。

犹大是只小狮子；我儿啊，你猎取了食物就上到洞穴去。他屈身伏卧，好像公狮，又像母狮，谁敢惊动他呢？

经学家和祭司长差派奸细伪装好人去窥探耶稣，要在他的话上抓着把柄，好把他交由总督全权裁决。奸细问他：“老师，我们知道你所说所教的都对，并且不讲情面，只照着真理把神的道教导人。我们纳税给凯撒可以不可以？”耶稣看透他们的诡计，就对他们说：

“现在，我差派你们出去，好像羊进到狼群中间；所以你们要像蛇一样机警，像鸽子一样纯洁。

那些寻索我命的，设下网罗；那些想要害我的，口说威吓的话，他们整天思想诡计。至于我，像个聋子，不能听见；像个哑巴，不能开口。我竟变成了一个象是不能听见的人，变成了一个口中不能反驳的人。

有法利赛人前来试探耶稣，问他：“丈夫可以休妻吗？

法利赛人出来，跟耶稣辩论；他们想试探他，求他显个从天上来的神迹。

他们中间有一个律法家，试探耶稣说：

为此，聪明人在这时代缄默无声，因这时代邪恶。

过路的人被激怒，去干涉与自己无关的争执，就像人揪住狗的耳朵。

这些见过我的荣耀，和我在埃及与旷野所行的神迹的人，仍然试探了我这十次，不听从我的话；

法利赛人和撒都该人前来试探耶稣，求他显个从天上来的神迹给他们看。

耶稣却不作声。大祭司又对他说：“我指着永生的神要你起誓，告诉我们你是不是基督、神的儿子。”

当时，忽然有人手的指头出现，在王宫里灯台对面的粉墙上写字；王看见了那只正在写字的手掌，

黎明的时候，他又到圣殿去，众人都来到他那里，他就坐下教导他们。

我曾说：“我要谨慎我的行为，不让我的舌头犯罪；恶人在我面前的时候，我总要用罩子约束我的嘴。”

又有人试探他，向他求一个从天上来的神迹。

耶稣看出他们的假意，就对他们说：“你们为什么试探我呢？拿一个银币来给我，让我看看。”
