有幾個法利賽人到耶穌那裡想試探祂，便問祂：「丈夫可以用任何理由休妻嗎？」

撕裂有時，縫合有時；沉默有時，發言有時；

耶穌看出了他們的惡意，就說：「你們這些偽君子，為什麼試探我呢？

也不要試探主，像他們當中的人那樣，結果被蛇咬死了。

耶穌卻一言不發。門徒上前求祂說：「請讓她走吧！她老是在後面喊叫。」

你們憎恨在城門口主持公道的人，厭惡正直的人。

耶穌離開那裡後，法利賽人和律法教師開始激烈地反對祂，用各種問題刁難祂，伺機找把柄陷害祂。

我兒猶大是頭小獅子，他獵食回來，躺臥如雄獅，蹲伏如母獅，誰敢驚擾他？

於是，他們密切地監視耶穌，又派遣密探假裝好人，想從祂的話裡找把柄抓祂去見總督。那些密探問耶穌：「老師，我們知道你所講所傳的道都是正確的，也知道你不看人的情面，只按真理傳上帝的道。那麼，我們向凱撒納稅對不對呢？」耶穌看破他們的陰謀，

「聽著，我差你們出去，就好像使羊走進狼群一般。所以，你們要像蛇一樣機靈，像鴿子一樣馴良。

謀害我的人設下陷阱，想害我的人威脅我，整天圖謀奸計。但我像聽不見的聾子，無法說話的啞巴。我就像一個不能聽、不能辯的人。

一些法利賽人想試探耶穌，就來問祂：「男人可以休妻嗎？」

法利賽人出來盤問耶穌，要求祂從天上顯一個神蹟給他們看看，藉此試探祂。

其中有位律法專家試探耶穌說：

這是邪惡的時代，所以明智者靜默不言。

插手他人的糾紛，猶如揪狗的耳朵。

他們絕對看不到我起誓要賜給他們祖先的土地，藐視我的人都看不到那片土地。這些人見過我的榮耀，見過我在埃及和曠野所行的神蹟，卻仍然不聽我的話，試探我十次之多。

有幾個法利賽人和撒都該人來試探耶穌，要求祂顯個天上的神蹟給他們看。

耶穌還是沉默不語。大祭司又對祂說：「我奉永活上帝的名命令你起誓告訴我們，你是不是上帝的兒子基督？」

突然，有人手的指頭出現，在燈臺對面王宮的粉牆上寫字。王看見那隻手在寫字，

第二天清晨，祂又回到聖殿。百姓聚集在祂那裡，祂就坐下來教導他們。

我說：「我要謹言慎行，免犯口舌之罪。只要身邊有惡人，我就用嚼環勒住自己的口。」

還有些人想試探耶穌，要求祂行個神蹟證明自己是上帝派來的。

我們該不該納呢？」耶穌看破他們的陰謀，就說：「你們為什麼試探我呢？拿一個銀幣來給我看。」
