Art thou greater than our father Abraham, who died? and the prophets died: whom makest thou thyself?

然則爾乃大於已亡之祖亞伯漢、與夫已亡之諸先知乎？爾自以為何如人耶？』

Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?”

Art thou greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his sons, and his cattle?

whose are the fathers, and of whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,to whom also Abraham divided a tenth part of all( being first, by interpretation, King of righteousness, and then also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like unto the Son of God), abideth a priest continually.Now consider how great this man was, unto whom Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth out of the chief spoils.And they indeed of the sons of Levi that receive the priest’s office have commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though these have come out of the loins of Abraham:but he whose genealogy is not counted from them hath taken tithes of Abraham, and hath blessed him that hath the promises.But without any dispute the less is blessed of the better.

For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

The men of Nineveh shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, a greater than Jonah is here.The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

My Father, who hath given them unto me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.I and the Father are one.

who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also was Moses in all his house.For he hath been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by so much as he that built the house hath more honor than the house.

The multitude therefore answered him, We have heard out of the law that the Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

The Jews answered him, For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
