The one who belongs to God listens and responds to God’s words. You don’t listen and respond, because you don’t belong to God.”

Everyone who goes on ahead and does not remain in the teaching of Christ does not have God. The one who remains in this teaching has both the Father and the Son.

Then Pilate said,“ So you are a king!” Jesus replied,“ You say that I am a king. For this reason I was born, and for this reason I came into the world– to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”

But to all who have received him– those who believe in his name– he has given the right to become God’s children– children not born by human parents or by human desire or a husband’s decision, but by God.

It is written in the prophets,‘ And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who hears and learns from the Father comes to me.( Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God– he has seen the Father.)

I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. But you want to kill me, because my teaching makes no progress among you.

But you refuse to believe because you are not my sheep.My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

“ I have revealed your name to the men you gave me out of the world. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me, and they have obeyed your word.Now they understand that everything you have given me comes from you,because I have given them the words you have given me. They accepted them and really understand that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.

So Jesus added,“ Because of this I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has allowed him to come.”

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses Jesus as the Christ who has come in the flesh is from God,but every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and now is already in the world.You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world’s perspective and the world listens to them.We are from God; the person who knows God listens to us, but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit.

Why don’t you understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot accept my teaching.

But because I am telling you the truth, you do not believe me.

By this the children of God and the children of the devil are revealed: Everyone who does not practice righteousness– the one who does not love his fellow Christian– is not of God.
