He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

Now Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel.

So Satan answered the Lord and said,“ Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life.But stretch out Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will surely curse You to Your face!”And the Lord said to Satan,“ Behold, he is in your hand, but spare his life.”

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,

But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!”

Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, and said,‘ I will persuade him.’ The Lord said to him,‘ In what way?’So he said,‘ I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the Lord said,‘ You shall persuade him and also prevail; go out and do so.’Therefore look! The Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these prophets of yours, and the Lord has declared disaster against you.”

But Peter said,“ Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?

but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said,‘ You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”Then the serpent said to the woman,“ You will not surely die.For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven.It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain,“ The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:“ God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.

He who says,“ I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.Then the Lord said to Cain,“ Where is Abel your brother?” He said,“ I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?”
