Is this how you repay the LORD, you foolish, unwise people? Is he not your father, your creator? He has made you and established you.

But approach, you sons of omen readers, you offspring of adulteresses and prostitutes!At whom are you laughing? At whom are you opening your mouth and sticking out your tongue? You are the children of rebels, the offspring of liars,you who practice ritual sex under the oaks and every green tree, who slaughter children near the streams under the rocky overhangs.Among the smooth stones of the stream are the idols you love; they, they are the object of your devotion. You pour out liquid offerings to them, you make an offering. Because of these things I will seek vengeance.On every high, elevated hill you prepare your bed; you go up there to offer sacrifices.

When the LORD first spoke through Hosea, he said to him,“ Go marry a prostitute who will bear illegitimate children conceived through prostitution, because the nation continually commits spiritual prostitution by turning away from the LORD.”

“‘ You took your sons and your daughters whom you bore to me and you sacrificed them as food for the idols to eat. As if your prostitution not enough,you slaughtered my children and sacrificed them to the idols.

Plead earnestly with your mother( for she is not my wife, and I am not her husband), so that she might put an end to her adulterous lifestyle, and turn away from her sexually immoral behavior.Otherwise, I will strip her naked, and expose her like she was when she was born. I will turn her land into a wilderness and make her country a parched land, so that I might kill her with thirst.I will have no pity on her children, because they are children conceived in adultery.For their mother has committed adultery; she who conceived them has acted shamefully. For she said,“ I will seek out my lovers; they are the ones who give me my bread and my water, my wool, my flax, my olive oil, and my wine.

But upright men will punish them appropriately for their adultery and bloodshed, because they are adulteresses and blood is on their hands.“ For this is what the sovereign LORD says: Bring up an army against them and subject them to terror and plunder.That army will pelt them with stones and slash them with their swords; they will kill their sons and daughters and burn their houses.
