I know that you are Abraham’s descendants; yet you are seeking to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.

I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word.

Yes, I realize that you are descendants of Abraham. And yet some of you are trying to kill me because there’s no room in your hearts for my message.

I know that ye are Abraham’s seed, yet ye seek to kill me, because my word hath not free course in you.

After these things Jesus was walking in Galilee, for He was unwilling to walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him.

Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and left the temple grounds.

But because I say the truth, you do not believe Me.Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me?The one who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.”

But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but:“ through Isaac your descendants shall be named.”

How can you believe, when you accept glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?

The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him.

They answered and said to Him,“ Abraham is our father.” Jesus* said to them,“ If you are Abraham’s children, do the deeds of Abraham.But as it is, you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do.

They answered Him,“ We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say,‘ You will become free’?”

Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot listen to My word.

Now they were saying this to test Him, so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground.

So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying,“ Is this man not the one whom they are seeking to kill?

“ Brothers, sons of Abraham’s family, and those among you who fear God, to us the message of this salvation has been sent.

For the heart of this people has become dull, With their ears they scarcely hear, And they have closed their eyes, Otherwise they might see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their heart, and return, And I would heal them.’

So from that day on they planned together to kill Him.

For this reason the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because He was doing these things on a Sabbath.But He answered them,“ My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.”For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.

“ Did Moses not give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why are you seeking to kill Me?”

For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again,“ He has blinded their eyes and He hardened their heart, so that they will not see with their eyes and understand with their heart, and be converted, and so I will not heal them.”These things Isaiah said because he saw His glory, and he spoke about Him.Nevertheless many, even of the rulers, believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, so that they would not be excommunicated from the synagogue;for they loved the approval of people rather than the approval of God.

When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is the one sown with seed beside the road.The one sown with seed on the rocky places, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy;yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution occurs because of the word, immediately he falls away.And the one sown with seed among the thorns, this is the one who hears the word, and the anxiety of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
