I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word.

And after these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judæa, because the Jews sought to kill him.

Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged.

neither, because they are Abraham’s seed, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and the glory that cometh from the only God ye seek not?

The Jews took up stones again to stone him.

They answered and said unto him, Our father is Abraham. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I heard from God: this did not Abraham.

They answered unto him, We are Abraham’s seed, and have never yet been in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear my word.

And this they said, trying him, that they might have whereof to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground.

Some therefore of them of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill?

Brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and those among you that fear God, to us is the word of this salvation sent forth.

For this people’s heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest haply they should perceive with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And should turn again, And I should heal them.

So from that day forth they took counsel that they might put him to death.

And for this cause the Jews persecuted Jesus, because he did these things on the sabbath.But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh even until now, and I work.For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you doeth the law? Why seek ye to kill me?

For this cause they could not believe, for that Isaiah said again,He hath blinded their eyes, and he hardened their heart; Lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, And should turn, And I should heal them.These things said Isaiah, because he saw his glory; and he spake of him.Nevertheless even of the rulers many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess it, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:for they loved the glory that is of men more than the glory that is of God.

When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the evil one, and snatcheth away that which hath been sown in his heart. This is he that was sown by the way side.And he that was sown upon the rocky places, this is he that heareth the word, and straightway with joy receiveth it;yet hath he not root in himself, but endureth for a while; and when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straightway he stumbleth.And he that was sown among the thorns, this is he that heareth the word; and the care of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
