A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever.

奴仆不能永远住在家里；儿子是永远住在家里。

Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.

A slave has no lasting place in the family. But a son belongs to the family forever.

The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever.

A slave does not remain in the household forever, but a son does remain forever.

Now the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever.

And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.

And the bondservant abideth not in the house for ever: the son abideth for ever.

A bondservant doesn’t live in the house forever. A son remains forever.

So she turned to Abraham and demanded,“ Get rid of that slave woman and her son. He is not going to share the inheritance with my son, Isaac. I won’t have it!”

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him,“ Abba, Father.”For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law.God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out,“ Abba, Father.”Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.

But what do the Scriptures say about that?“ Get rid of the slave and her son, for the son of the slave woman will not share the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”So, dear brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman; we are children of the free woman.

“ His father said to him,‘ Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours.

But if the prince gives a gift of land from his inheritance to one of his servants, the servant may keep it only until the Year of Jubilee, which comes every fiftieth year. At that time the land will return to the prince. But when the prince gives gifts to his sons, those gifts will be permanent.

For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.

The religious leaders replied,“ He will put the wicked men to a horrible death and lease the vineyard to others who will give him his share of the crop after each harvest.”Then Jesus asked them,“ Didn’t you ever read this in the Scriptures?‘ The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone. This is the Lord’s doing, and it is wonderful to see.’I tell you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation that will produce the proper fruit.

Moses was certainly faithful in God’s house as a servant. His work was an illustration of the truths God would reveal later.But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ.

Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live.When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace.All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation,and we have a priceless inheritance— an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.

For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.
