A slave does not remain in the household forever, but a son does remain forever.

Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.

A slave has no lasting place in the family. But a son belongs to the family forever.

The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever.

A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever.

Now the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever.

And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.

And the bondservant abideth not in the house for ever: the son abideth for ever.

A bondservant doesn’t live in the house forever. A son remains forever.

So she said to Abraham,“ Drive out this slave with her son, for the son of this slave will not be a coheir with my son Isaac!”

For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out,“ Abba, Father!”The Spirit himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children,and if children, also heirs— heirs of God and coheirs with Christ— if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.

When the time came to completion, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying,“ Abba, Father!”So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then God has made you an heir.

But what does the Scripture say?“ Drive out the slave and her son, for the son of the slave will never be a coheir with the son of the free woman.”Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of a slave but of the free woman.

“‘ Son,’ he said to him,‘ you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.

But if he gives a gift from his inheritance to one of his servants, it will belong to that servant until the year of freedom, when it will revert to the prince. His inheritance belongs only to his sons; it is theirs.

For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

“ He will completely destroy those terrible men,” they told him,“ and lease his vineyard to other farmers who will give him his fruit at the harvest.”Jesus said to them,“ Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is what the Lord has done and it is wonderful in our eyes?Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruit.

Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s household, as a testimony to what would be said in the future.But Christ was faithful as a Son over his household. And we are that household if we hold on to our confidence and the hope in which we boast.

In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Because I live, you will live too.On that day you will know that I am in my Father, you are in me, and I am in you.

according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient and to be sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ. For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; and those he justified, he also glorified.
