The rest were hardened,as it is written,“ God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, to this very day.”And David says,“ Let their table become a snare and trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them;let their eyes be darkened so that they may not see, and make their backs bend continually.”

“ Listen, you deaf ones! Take notice, you blind ones!My servant is truly blind, my messenger is truly deaf. My covenant partner, the servant of the LORD, is truly blind.You see many things, but don’t comprehend; their ears are open, but do not hear.”

Why don’t you understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot accept my teaching.

The one who belongs to God listens and responds to God’s words. You don’t listen and respond, because you don’t belong to God.”

We grope along the wall like the blind, we grope like those who cannot see; we stumble at noontime as if it were evening. Though others are strong, we are like dead men.

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing,among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of those who do not believe so they would not see the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God.
