“ I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have heard from him I tell the world.”

我不再稱你們為奴僕，因為奴僕不知道主人所做的事。我卻稱你們為朋友，因為我把從我父所聽到的一切，都讓你們明白了。

耶穌在聖殿裡教導人，呼喊說：「你們認識我，也知道我是從哪裡來的。其實我不是憑自己而來的；派我來的那一位是真實的，你們卻不認識他；

但如今，我把從神那裡所聽到的真理告訴了你們，你們就想殺我。亞伯拉罕沒有做過這種事。

不過我了解你們，你們裡面沒有屬神的愛。我奉我父的名來了，你們卻不接受我；如果有別人奉自己的名而來，你們倒會接受他。

他見證他所看到的、他所聽到的，可是沒有人接受他的見證。那接受他見證的人，就印證了神是真實的。

「我還有很多事要告訴你們，可是你們現在擔當不了，

耶穌回答他們，說：「我的教導不是我自己的，而是那派我來者的。

因為你所賜給我的話語，我已經給了他們。他們領受了，也確實知道我是從你而來的，並且相信是你差派了我。

關於這事，我們還有很多話要說，可是很難解釋，因為你們聽不進去了。其實從時間來說，你們早就應該做教師了，卻還需要有人把神話語的基本原則重新教導你們；你們成了那需要吃奶、而不能吃乾糧的人。

神是信實的，我們向你們傳的話語，並沒有「是」而又「非」。

耶穌說：「我到這世上來是為了行審判，使看不見的能看見，使看得見的反而瞎了眼。」與耶穌在那裡的一些法利賽人聽了這些話，就說：「難道我們也是瞎眼的嗎？」耶穌對他們說：「如果你們是瞎眼的，就沒有罪了。但如今你們說『我們能看見』，所以你們的罪仍然存在。

不過，就算我評斷，我的評斷也是真實的，因為我不是獨自一人，而是有那派我來的父與我同在。連你們的律法上也記載著：兩個人的見證才是有效的。

如果有人聽了我的話卻不遵守，我不定他的罪；因為我來，不是為了定世人的罪，而是為了拯救世人。拒絕我，又不接受我話的人，自有定他罪的：我所講的話語，在末日要定他的罪。這是因為我沒有憑自己講話，而是派我來的父給了我命令，要我說什麼和講什麼。我知道他的命令就是永恆的生命。所以我所講的，正是照著父所告訴我的來講的。」
