於是他們問耶穌說：『你、是誰？』耶穌對他們說：『總而言之，就是我同你們所講論的。

他們問：「你到底是誰？」耶穌說：「我從一開始就告訴你們了。

眾曰、爾為誰、曰、即自始所言於爾者、

眾曰、爾為誰、耶穌曰、我昔言之矣、

眾曰、爾為誰、耶穌曰、即我自始所告爾者、

眾問曰：『爾果誰歟？』耶穌曰：『予乃無始之始、而今為爾說道者是！

“ Who are you?” they asked.“ Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied.

“ Who are you?” they asked.“ Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied.

So they said to him,“ Who are you?” Jesus said to them,“ Just what I have been telling you from the beginning.

“ Who are you?” they demanded. Jesus replied,“ The one I have always claimed to be.

“ Who are you?” they questioned.“ Exactly what I’ve been telling you from the very beginning,” Jesus told them.

Then they were saying to Him,“ Who are You?” Jesus said to them,“ What have I even been saying to you from the beginning?

Then they said to Him,“ Who are You?” And Jesus said to them,“ Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

They said therefore unto him, Who art thou? Jesus said unto them, Even that which I have also spoken unto you from the beginning.

“ Who are You?” they questioned.“ Precisely what I’ve been telling you from the very beginning,” Jesus told them.

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even[ the same] that I said unto you from the beginning.

So they said to him,“ Who are you?” Jesus replied,“ What I have told you from the beginning.

They said therefore to him,“ Who are you?” Jesus said to them,“ Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

Now this was John’s testimony when the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was. (niv)

Finally they said,“ Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” (niv)

and he went back inside the palace.“ Where do you come from?” he asked Jesus, but Jesus gave him no answer. (niv)

The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying,“ How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” (niv)

“ If you are the Messiah,” they said,“ tell us.” Jesus answered,“ If I tell you, you will not believe me, (niv)

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said,“ I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (niv)

In his defense Jesus said to them,“ My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.Jesus gave them this answer:“ Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son,that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.“ Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.“ Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voiceand come out— those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.
