耶稣面对银库坐着，看着大家怎样把钱投入库中。许多有钱的人投入很多的钱。

耶稣把门徒叫过来，对他们说：“我实在告诉你们，这穷寡妇投入库里的，比众人投的更多。

祭司长把银子拾起来，说：“这是血钱，不可放在殿库里。”

他们又要逮捕耶稣，他却从他们的手中逃脱了。

他们中间有人想逮捕耶稣，只是没有人下手。

就在那时候，有几个法利赛人来对耶稣说：“你离开这里走吧！因为希律想要杀你。”他说：“你们去告诉那个狐狸，今天明天我赶鬼医病，第三天我的事就完成了。然而，今天明天后天，我必须前行，因为先知不能在耶路撒冷以外丧命。

耶稣说：“白昼不是有十二小时吗？人若在白昼行走，就不会跌倒，因为他看见这世上的光；人若在夜间行走，就会跌倒，因为他没有光。”

四个殿门的守卫长都是利未人，受托看守神的殿的房间和库房。

于是他们拿起石头要打他。耶稣却躲起来，从殿里出去了。

经学家和祭司长知道这比喻是针对他们说的，当时就想动手拿他，可是又害怕群众。
