他们听了，想捉拿耶稣，只是没有人下手，因为祂的时候还没有到。

你们先去过节吧，我现在还不上去，因为我的时候还没有到。”

然后，耶稣走到圣殿的奉献箱对面坐下，看大家怎样奉献。很多财主奉献了大量的钱。

耶稣叫门徒来，说：“我实在告诉你们，这位穷寡妇比其他人奉献的都多，

祭司长们捡起银子，说：“这是血钱，不可收进圣殿的库房。”

他们又要抓耶稣，但祂从他们手中逃脱了。

有些人想抓祂，只是没有人下手。

那时，有几个法利赛人来告诉耶稣，说：“快离开这里吧，希律要杀你！”耶稣说：“你们去告诉那个狐狸，‘今天和明天，我要继续赶鬼治病，到第三天，我的任务就完成了。’无论如何，今天、明天和后天我必须继续前行，因为先知不能死在耶路撒冷以外的地方。

耶稣说：“白天不是有十二个小时吗？人在白天走路，不会跌倒，因为他看得见这世上的光。人在夜间走路，才会跌倒，因为没有光。”

四个殿门守卫长都是利未人，负责看守上帝殿的房间和库房。

于是，他们就拿起石头要打祂，耶稣却避开他们，离开了圣殿。

律法教师和祭司长听出这比喻是针对他们说的，便想立刻下手捉拿耶稣，但又害怕百姓。
