那時，耶穌對眾人說：“你們帶著刀棒出來，把我當作強盜捉拿嗎？我天天坐在殿裡教導人，你們卻沒有逮捕我。

他把書卷捲好，交還侍役，就坐下。會堂裡眾人都注視他。

耶穌白天在殿裡教導人，晚上就到橄欖山上去過夜。

耶穌看見群眾，就上了山；他坐下之後，門徒來到他跟前，他就開口教訓他們：

他上了西門的那一隻船，請他撐開，離岸不遠，就坐下，從船上教導眾人。

這些話是耶穌在殿裡教導人的時候，在銀庫的院中說的。當時沒有人逮捕他，因為他的時候還沒有到。

耶穌說：“我的食物就是遵行差我來者的旨意，並且完成他的工作。

“從猶大王亞們的兒子約西亞第十三年直到今日，這二十三年來，常有耶和華的話臨到我，我也不斷對你們傳講，你們卻不聽從。

凡是你手可作的，都當盡力去作；因為在你所要去的陰間裡，既沒有工作，又沒有籌謀；沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

雖然我不斷差遣我的僕人眾先知到你們那裡去，說：你們千萬不可行我所恨惡，這可憎的事！
