那时，耶稣对众人说：“你们像对付强盗一样拿着刀棍来抓我吗？我天天在圣殿里教导人，你们并没有来抓我。

耶稣读完便收好书卷，还给负责的人，然后坐下。会堂里的人都把目光集中在祂身上。

耶稣每天在圣殿里讲道，晚上则到城外的橄榄山上过夜。

耶稣说：“我的食物就是遵行差我来者的旨意，完成祂的工作。

“从犹大王亚们的儿子约西亚执政第十三年，到今天已有二十三年。在这期间，我不断把耶和华对我说的话传给你们，你们却充耳不闻。

凡你的手能做的，都要尽力去做，因为在你要去的阴间没有工作，没有计划，也没有知识和智慧。

我屡次差遣我的仆人——众先知警告他们不要再做令我深恶痛绝的事，
