I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous people who don’t need repentance.

Or do you despise the riches of His kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Suppose someone says to God,“ I have endured my punishment; I will no longer act wickedly.

I tell you, in the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.”

This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance:“ Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”— and I am the worst of them.But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, the worst of them, Christ Jesus might demonstrate His extraordinary patience as an example to those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

The one who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy.

I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

“ Therefore, house of Israel, I will judge each one of you according to his ways.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.“ Repent and turn from all your transgressions, so they will not be a stumbling block that causes your punishment.Throw off all the transgressions you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit.
