Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus before and who was one of the rulers, said,

Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus earlier and who was one of their own number, asked,

Then Nicodemus, the leader who had met with Jesus earlier, spoke up.

Nicodemus— the one who came to him previously and who was one of them— said to them,

Nicodemus saith unto them( he that came to him before, being one of them),

Nicodemus, the man who had previously come to Jesus at night, accompanied Joseph, carrying a mixture of myrrh and aloes weighing about seventy- five pounds.

Now a certain man, a Pharisee named Nicodemus, who was a member of the Jewish ruling council,came to Jesus at night and said to him,“ Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs that you do unless God is with him.”
