尼閣德睦即暮夜晉謁耶穌者、當時亦在其間、乃謂之曰：

Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus earlier and who was one of their own number, asked,

Then Nicodemus, a Pharisee, spoke. He was the one who had gone to Jesus earlier. He asked,

Nicodemus, who had gone to him before, and who was one of them, said to them,

Then Nicodemus, the leader who had met with Jesus earlier, spoke up.

Nicodemus— the one who came to him previously and who was one of them— said to them,

Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus before and who was one of the rulers, said,

And there came also Nicodemus, he who at the first came to him by night, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds.

Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:the same came unto him by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that thou doest, except God be with him.
