惟彼眾庶、昧於律法、其亦可詛也已！』

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace loving, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, free of hypocrisy.And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Who say,‘ Keep to yourself, do not come near me, For I am holier than you!’ These are smoke in My nostrils, A fire that burns all the day.

They answered him,“ You were born entirely in sins, and yet you are teaching us?” So they put him out.

Those who were with Him from the Pharisees heard these things and said to Him,“ We are not blind too, are we?”

Therefore behold, I will once again deal marvelously with this people, wondrously marvelous; And the wisdom of their wise men will perish, And the understanding of their men who have understanding will be concealed.”Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from the Lord, And whose deeds are done in a dark place, And they say,“ Who sees us?” or“ Who knows us?”You turn things around! Shall the potter be considered as equal with the clay, That what is made would say to its maker,“ He did not make me”; Or what is formed say to him who formed it,“ He has no understanding”?Is it not yet just a little while Before Lebanon will be turned into a fertile field, And the fertile field will be considered as a forest?On that day those who are deaf will hear words of a book, And out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of those who are blind will see.The afflicted also will increase their joy in the Lord, And the needy of mankind will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

Where is the wise person? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made foolish the wisdom of the world?For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

Therefore, hear the word of the Lord, you scoffers, Who rule this people who are in Jerusalem,

Take care that no one deceives himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise.For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God. For it is written:“ He is the one who catches the wise by their craftiness”;and again,“ The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are useless.”

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight!
