有司與法利賽人、有信之者乎、

有司與𠵽唎㘔人、有信之者乎、

有司及法利賽人、有信之者乎、

夫薦紳先生、及法利塞人有信之者乎？

Nevertheless, many did believe in Him even among the rulers, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, so they would not be banned from the synagogue.

Yet, look! He’s speaking publicly and they’re saying nothing to Him. Can it be true that the authorities know He is the Messiah?

None of the rulers of this age knew this wisdom, for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Where is the philosopher? Where is the scholar? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn’t God made the world’s wisdom foolish?

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to infants.

So the preaching about God flourished, the number of the disciples in Jerusalem multiplied greatly, and a large group of priests became obedient to the faith.

Nicodemus— the one who came to Him previously, being one of them— said to them,

For the Jews ask for signs and the Greeks seek wisdom,but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles.Yet to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is God’s power and God’s wisdom,because God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength.Brothers, consider your calling: Not many are wise from a human perspective, not many powerful, not many of noble birth.Instead, God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong.God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world— what is viewed as nothing— to bring to nothing what is viewed as something,

Then I thought: They are just the poor; they have played the fool. For they don’t understand the way of the Lord, the justice of their God.I will go to the powerful and speak to them. Surely they know the way of the Lord, the justice of their God. However, these also had broken the yoke and torn off the chains.
