The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said,“ Have courage, for just as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.”

( Jesus spoke these words near the offering box while he was teaching in the temple courts. No one seized him because his time had not yet come.)

They replied,“ Jesus the Nazarene.” He told them,“ I am he.”( Now Judas, the one who betrayed him, was standing there with them.)So when Jesus said to them,“ I am he,” they retreated and fell to the ground.

because I am with you, and no one will assault you to harm you, because I have many people in this city.”

For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve came to meand said,‘ Do not be afraid, Paul! You must stand before Caesar, and God has graciously granted you the safety of all who are sailing with you.’Therefore keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will be just as I have been told.
