For no one who seeks to make a reputation for himself does anything in secret. If you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.”

凡有為者、不宜幽居潛處、必欲有以自彰。爾既有此異能、盍亦自顯於世乎？』

No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.”

Jesus replied,“ I have spoken publicly to the world. I always taught in the synagogues and in the temple courts, where all the Jewish people assemble together. I have said nothing in secret.

They do all their deeds to be seen by people, for they make their phylacteries wide and their tassels long.

One who has isolated himself seeks his own desires; he rejects all sound judgment.A fool takes no pleasure in understanding but only in disclosing what is on his mind.

“ Whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray while standing in synagogues and on street corners so that people can see them. Truly I say to you, they have their reward.

The good person out of the good treasury of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasury produces evil, for his mouth speaks from what fills his heart.

“ Be careful not to display your righteousness merely to be seen by people. Otherwise you have no reward with your Father in heaven.Thus whenever you do charitable giving, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in synagogues and on streets so that people will praise them. I tell you the truth, they have their reward.

and said to him,“ If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written,‘ He will command his angels concerning you’ and‘ with their hands they will lift you up, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”

Now the messenger who went to summon Micaiah said to him,“ Look, the prophets are in complete agreement that the king will succeed. Your words must agree with theirs; you must predict success.”

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in other languages as the Spirit enabled them.Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven residing in Jerusalem.When this sound occurred, a crowd gathered and was in confusion, because each one heard them speaking in his own language.Completely baffled, they said,“ Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?And how is it that each one of us hears them in our own native language?Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and the province of Asia,Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene, and visitors from Rome,both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs– we hear them speaking in our own languages about the great deeds God has done!”All were astounded and greatly confused, saying to one another,“ What does this mean?”

“ When you fast, do not look sullen like the hypocrites, for they make their faces unattractive so that people will see them fasting. I tell you the truth, they have their reward.
