‘ And in the last days it will be,’ God says,‘ that I will pour out my Spirit on all people, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in other languages as the Spirit enabled them.

This desolation will continue until new life is poured out on us from heaven. Then the desert will become an orchard and the orchard will be considered a forest.

So then, exalted to the right hand of God, and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, he has poured out what you both see and hear.

( His disciples did not understand these things when they first happened, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about him and that these things had happened to him.)

For I will pour water on the parched ground and cause streams to flow on the dry land. I will pour my spirit on your offspring and my blessing on your children.

Then I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever–the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it does not see him or know him. But you know him, because he resides with you and will be in you.

And after he said this, he breathed on them and said,“ Receive the Holy Spirit.

And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. But stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

Peter said to them,“ Repent, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you.

When Judas had gone out, Jesus said,“ Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in him.If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him right away.

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God courageously.

Joyfully you will draw water from the springs of deliverance.

So they asked him,“ Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said,“ I am not!”“ Are you the Prophet?” He answered,“ No!”

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and will cause you to remember everything I said to you.

You ascend on high, you have taken many captives. You receive tribute from men, including even sinful rebels. Indeed the LORD God lives there!

And now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory I had with you before the world was created.

And the crowds were saying,“ This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.”

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our forefathers, has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you handed over and rejected in the presence of Pilate after he had decided to release him.

how much more glorious will the ministry of the Spirit be?

Now when the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus performed, they began to say to one another,“ This is certainly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

Moses said,‘ The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must obey him in everything he tells you.Every person who does not obey that prophet will be destroyed and thus removed from the people.’

Jesus replied,“ The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you– from your fellow Israelites; you must listen to him.This accords with what happened at Horeb in the day of the assembly. You asked the LORD your God:“ Please do not make us hear the voice of the LORD our God any more or see this great fire any more lest we die.”The LORD then said to me,“ What they have said is good.I will raise up a prophet like you for them from among their fellow Israelites. I will put my words in his mouth and he will speak to them whatever I command.

There was a lot of grumbling about him among the crowds. Some were saying,“ He is a good man,” but others,“ He deceives the common people.”

If only you will respond to my rebuke, then I will pour out my thoughts to you and I will make my words known to you.

So they asked John,“ Why then are you baptizing if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

And I did not recognize him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me,‘ The one on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining– this is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him.

Fear seized them all, and they began to glorify God, saying,“ A great prophet has appeared among us!” and“ God has come to help his people!”

And when you heard the word of truth( the gospel of your salvation)– when you believed in Christ– you were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit,who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

While he was with them, he declared,“ Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait there for what my Father promised, which you heard about from me.For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”So when they had gathered together, they began to ask him,“ Lord, is this the time when you are restoring the kingdom to Israel?”He told them,“ You are not permitted to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest parts of the earth.”

John answered them all,“ I baptize you with water, but one more powerful than I am is coming– I am not worthy to untie the strap of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

They answered,“ Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
