於是，猶太人彼此爭論，說：“這個人怎能把他的肉給我們吃呢？”

於是群眾對他說：“我們從律法上知道基督是永遠常存的，你怎麼說‘人子必須被舉起來’呢？這人子是誰呢？”

然而屬血氣的人不接受神的靈的事，因為他以為是愚笨的；而且他也不能夠明白，因為這些事，要有屬靈的眼光才能領悟。

猶太人因為耶穌說“我是從天上降下來的食物”，就紛紛議論他。

於是他的門徒中有幾個彼此說：“他對我們說：‘不久，你們不會看見我；再過不久，你們還要看見我。’又說：‘因為我到父那裡去。’這是甚麼意思呢？”他們又說：“他所說的‘不久’，是甚麼意思呢？我們不曉得他在講甚麼。”

他的門徒中，有許多人聽了，就說：“這話很難，誰能接受呢？”
