You will search for me but not find me. And you cannot go where I am going.”

其時爾等將追尋於予、而不獲見予、以予之所在、非爾之所能詣也。』

You will look for me, but you will not find me; and where I am, you cannot come.”

When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

Later Jesus said to them again,“ I am going away. You will search for me but will die in your sin. You cannot come where I am going.”The people asked,“ Is he planning to commit suicide? What does he mean,‘ You cannot come where I am going’?”Jesus continued,“ You are from below; I am from above. You belong to this world; I do not.That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I Am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.”

“ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me.And now, look, your house is abandoned. And you will never see me again until you say,‘ Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

Then he said to his disciples,“ The time is coming when you will long to see the day when the Son of Man returns, but you won’t see it.People will tell you,‘ Look, there is the Son of Man,’ or‘ Here he is,’ but don’t go out and follow them.

Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!

“ I called you so often, but you wouldn’t come. I reached out to you, but you paid no attention.You ignored my advice and rejected the correction I offered.So I will laugh when you are in trouble! I will mock you when disaster overtakes you—when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster engulfs you like a cyclone, and anguish and distress overwhelm you.“ When they cry for help, I will not answer. Though they anxiously search for me, they will not find me.For they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the Lord.They rejected my advice and paid no attention when I corrected them.Therefore, they must eat the bitter fruit of living their own way, choking on their own schemes.

Dear children, I will be with you only a little longer. And as I told the Jewish leaders, you will search for me, but you can’t come where I am going.So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”Simon Peter asked,“ Lord, where are you going?” And Jesus replied,“ You can’t go with me now, but you will follow me later.”

When they come with their flocks and herds to offer sacrifices to the Lord, they will not find him, because he has withdrawn from them.

“ Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail.When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading,‘ Lord, open the door for us!’ But he will reply,‘ I don’t know you or where you come from.’

Jesus told him,“ I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
